I'm finally listening to the wonderful magnificant second album from Peppermill alumni Candy Claws, and must urge everyone to get it, it's even available in classic vinyl black if that's your thing.  Also have a read, Pitchfork writer Ian Cohen gave it a 7.9, and he's not alone when it comes to blogosphere love. 

Also they're coming to Vancouver!  The Media Club, to be exact.  Despite recently having their gear destroyed in a van fire while on tour, nothing will stop them... I hope to somehow make it to the coast for the 8th of September, a good chunk of the Act So Big Forest crew will be backing them, I'm certain it will more than worth the price of admission.

Back we are, after a few weeks off, enjoying both the sinfully thick electronic vibes of the Shambhala Music Festival as well as our very own Peppermill Fest up at Heaven, of which we'll post some highlights from in the coming weeks.

Outside my window it looks like a slow-motion sandstorm but I know I have to go into the office today.  It’s rare for the boss to request a face to face meeting unless it’s for some big punishment or reward, so I brace myself and open the medicine cabinet.

I pop two capsules of  a generic antihistamine and leave the house.  After 15 minutes everything turns into a dream, it feels like I’m swimming through the haze, the flakes of skin and bits of mold and pollen look like iridescent snow.  I can’t stop smiling! There’s barely anybody out, but the few people I pass seem to be in a similar giddy state.  My nose is running and my eyes are tearing.  I can’t even imagine how bad it would be if I hadn’t taken anything.

...till the 3rd annual Peppermill Music Festival.  We recently added the incredible Ora Cogan to the line-up, as well as Kootenay treeplanting darlings Dandelion and the Ditchweeds.  Have a listen to the bands and then  RSVP immediately after!
